Abstract
Water is colourless, tasteless, and odorless substance that is essential to all form of life. (The Anglo-Saxon and low German Word, Water (1993).
According shittu etal, (2008) water is vital to our existence in life and its importance in our daily life makes it imperative that through microbiological and physiochemical examination be conducted on water.Water is essential to the continues existence of all living organism but it is increasely been threatened as human population grows and demand for more water high quality for domestic economic activities. Source of drinking water include streams, wells, river and lakes mostly in villages. The stream rivers and lakes which are source of drinking water are use as sewage disposal site. The usual source of drinking water is the streams, rivers, well and boreholes which are mostly untreated and associated with various health risks (konko et al 2008). Water provide essential elements, but when polluted it may becomes undersirable substance dangerous to human health (karovo et al 2008).
    Many infectious diseases are transmitted by the water through the fecal oral route. Unsanitary water has particularly devastating effects on young children in the developing world. Each year less than 2 million persons mostly children less than 5 years of age, die of diarrhea disease (kosok et al, 2003; parashar et al, 2003; okonko et al 2008).
